Hi,
I'm trying to install Gentoo on my new MoBo: ASUS P4P800DeLuxe containing
an Intel 865PE chipset with SATA, RAID, GB Ethernet and what not. Problem
is that the LiveCD freezes during boot-up. The "even nicer" Gentoo
start-up screen (with the thermometer) shows up and stays there till
Eternity. The thermometer doesn't move one millimeter (I'm European (:-)
The box contains:
P4 2.6 MHz
1GB RAM
80GB IDE(boot disk), 120 GB SATA (2dary disk)
Radeon 9600Pro

The problem is in the IDE controller AFAIK. I've also tried the
experimental LiveCD with the 2.6.something kernel (from november 20), to
no avail.
Now what? I'd love to see it working on something better than my old P3
box, because I'm deeply impressed with this distro, my utmost respect and
gratitude to all people involved in making this piece of technology.
Does anybody know how to fix this?

Thanx in advance,
Frans Meijer
