Hi!

I tried to install gentoo 1.4-p4 on my new notebook (Clevo D400V). It has hardware detection problems, so I used the boot kernel:
gentoo noapm nodetect nohotplug noraid nousb
:)
(tried acpi=no too)

It works fine, it boots, and I've the shell prompt. Next step is to bring up ethernet connection. The notebook has a Realtek Gigabit ethernet card, so I've loaded the proper module:

modprobe r8169

The module is loaded with warnings.

It's neccessery for me to overwrite the hardware address, so I've eth0 down, overwrite hw address, and the following:

Two tries:
First: dhcp connection (Working under WinXp, same machine) - nothing
Second: give the proper IP and route settings - eth0 up, seems functioning.

But:
No ping pocket leaves my machine, I cannot see any network. It seems they
just disappear.

I am very helpless at this point. What can I do? I've zipped and attached the most output I have, hope it helps.

Istvan

ps: I've installed gentoo many times on many machine, only my notebook doesn't want to get it :((

Attachment: gentoo.zip
