Found it. ac-sources are masked in: /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask how many different ways are there to mask a file? Anyway, the comment says: # unmaintained upstream, I'll add pac instead So since I've been using ac-sources, does anyone have a recommendation for what kernel would be best to use on a laptop now?
