I was checking to see what version of eclipse seems to have a portage package,
and I was kinda shocked that the package seems a bit outdated. 3.4 is the
current portage package, but eclipse has been at 3.5 for a good while now.
Seeing as the eclipse website has a linux binary 3.5+ package, unless

But you don't need to run hdparm as a boot service anymore (except maybe for
your optical drive. Maybe.)
I use hdparm to get info but do not run it as a service. It seems the

I just switched to the radeon driver from the fglrx driver
Fglrx was a pretty old version and DRI had stopped working.
Oddly, emerge has "forgotten" it's installed. It obviously is
installed: it works (mostly), all its files are there, and
and eselect opengl still shows an "ati" option. How do yo

That's it!
I tried to find out what to do, but in Google
I didn't find anything which helps.
I put xtest.h in /usr/include/X11/extensions

Hi,
on one of several machines and only occasionally
my X-server (/usr/bin/X) takes nearly 100% CPU.
I have killed some applications but this didn't help
unless I killed X itself and restarted it.
Is there any way to find out what is hogging my X server?
Many thanks for a hint,
Helmut.

Just restore your latest backup to the new partition, then edit /etc/fstab
to specify the proper layout. Easy - I do it often.

Hello,
I have a system with a HD in question and if
I should rn 'hdparm' or not on this system.
Dmegs shows:

Hi all,
gthumb-2.10.11
gcc-4.3.4
I have a problem with re-emerging gthumb
on my laptop. Nevertheless it works and I
can see pictures with it.
After a revde-rebuild I have this:
* Checking dynamic linking consistency
[ 46% ] * broken /usr/lib/gthumb/modules/libduplicates.la (requires
-lesd)

Add

It worked for me. There is also a bug in bugzilla with more solutions:

For the first message you can turn
CONFIG_SYSFS_DEPRECATED
off in yo
