Yes there is a gambit of compiler bugs. It can waste time. I just upgraded to
the next one up and tried to compile from then. You have to us

OK, that one addresses speed, on a test that is easily repeated. (thanks).
Any tools or such that test or rank security features of the dns (pu

If compiler does not work in the current stage3 maybe this is a bug?

I never tried that way. I use synced portage by 6 months

hth,
James
Hello,
So I've been manually (hap-hazardly) testing a variety of dns servers by
just listing them first in /etc/resolv.conf. There seems to be a bit of buzz
about
OpenDNS and some other dns servers as to speed and security.
What (automated) tools do we have on gentoo to profile various dns

I've noticed that the NumLock key goes off after 'startx'.

I have added 'numlock' to the default runlevel, but that makes no difference.
Can anyone suggest what I'm missing ?

Hi,
I try to upgrade a pretty old Gentoo system and different
variants of "emerge -Dupv world" fail complaining, among
others, about EAPI 6.
So when I try to emerge portage I fail with:
