Sorry, not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I have a set
of machines which I update regularly, typically by downloading a tarball
like http://distfiles.gentoo.org/snapshots/portage-20180304.tar.gz and
mirroring locally. The squashfs under
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/snapshots/squashf
I've followed the instructions for patching the kernel from
Syskonnect.com for their sk98lin and ended up with a bzImage file.
What do I do with it? Am I on the right track at all?

I successfully installed my first gentoo but didn't get iptables. The
HOWTO says, "As for the kernel all you must do is enable iptable
support." but not how to do that? Do I have to redo the complete
install? (about 12 hours).
