I did, and now it works. mars ~ # java-config -cjoOv /opt/sun-jdk-1.4.2.10/bin/javac /opt/sun-jdk-1.4.2.10/bin/jar /opt/sun-jdk-1.4.2.10 java version "1.4.2_10" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_10-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_10-b03, mixed mode) Prior to the re-emerge, the JRE was not found. The last two lines above showed ERROR. Don't exactly know why this occurred, but at least I'm back running again.
