Hi Benjamin, you should consider that both CSS efforts in GeoServer, the Scala and the Java one, are based on spare time work, the Scala one is basically dead, the Java one is about to get into maintenance mode because I cannot keep on working on it and ignoring the bug reports for the rest of GeoS
