resolved before the work was merged.

changing between generalized datasets within a layer group. After your
change the layers would be able to use the same style which is nice.

Extend the LayerGroupInfo interface and its implementations to store a
range of scales for each layer the same way as is done for style.
I brought this up at a PSC meeting a few weeks ago.
