Until yesterday I had no way of actually deploying it on a linux setup, which I did. I discovered that the module was not getting a GWC injected, although it seemed to get it on Windows, probably due to different Spring behaviour on those platforms. Anyway, the problem was solvable by adding a constructor with the GWC argument, which then sets up a member variable with the GWC.get() call.
