Hi, just took a look at GWC schema
http://geowebcache.org/schema/1.2.4/geowebcache.xsd, and there seems
to be a parameter "proxyUrl". So I would give it a try.
You will have to upgrade to GWC 1.2.4 though, because GWC 1.2.2 does
not seem to have this parameter:
http://geowebcache.org/schema/1.2.4/
Hi Dheeraj,
the actual error is on the line after: Connection refused.
If you take a look at your GetCapabilites request, one can see that
url values point to the instance behind proxy:
http://localhost:8180/geowebcache_122/
So, you must set proxy value for your GWC to point to your external

Hola Ivan,
regarding cascading remote WMS, the supplied address does not return
valid GetCapabilities response (404 is thrown - Service Not Found or
Not Started)
Be sure that the service actually exists and returns valid GetCap. response.
Buena suerte,

Ivan,
It worked for me - but I use this as the URL ...

Also, if your access to the Internet is via a proxy server, read the bottom

The attached text file are my install notes for GeoServer on Ubuntu 10.04.
The OS-Independent and WAR deployment is included.
I hope someone finds it useful. I searched around GeoServer to see if I
could add it to the documentation with no luck.

Hi all,
Does it sound fair that a database field declared as "not null" ends
up being nillable in the WFS describeFeatureType response ?
Here's my setup (the interesting field is named "nom") :

Robert,
remember tomcat itself needs to edit certain files in there when you
config geoserver via the web, so watch out there.
my 2c would be that while it's possible play with permissions on the www
folder/files in the geoserver data dir you'd be better off (in my
opinion) spending a little t

I guess your cron job is replicating only the data dir of the "master"
GeoServer instance to the "slave" one.
Once you update the configuration of the slave instance, you have to tell
GeoServer to reload the

Hi,
I had a try with our WFS which is coming from a little bit older Geoserver
version. Anyhow, it is producing a shapefile with Windows-1252 encoding. In a
way in my case it is making living easy because Windows-1252 is also the

Hi,
Thanks Jukka for answer.
I tried OpenJUMP 1.4 but without success.
I used hex editor to see what is going on. In DBF I can see only "?"

GML which is UTF-8 encoded I can see two hex bytes C5 and A0 on position

Ciao Fabio,
I tried your dataset on 2.1.x where a couple of fixes already landed
for raster data and it seems to render just fine with one caveaut.
I just enhanced the style a little bit, you can find it here:
