You can often get away with not caching your labels, and even pulling them back in really big chunks, like 1024x1024. Probably not recommended, but highly effective. . Best, Steve http://www.clemetparks.com/images/esig/cmp-ms-90x122.pngStephen Mather Geographic Information Systems (GIS) M

Ok, I thought that i enabled metatiling with define tiled: true in my code. Is it need to allow something in GeoServer page "GeoWebCache Settings"? I have tried rise up "Default meta-tiling factors" but it didn't help :( Dan -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1560.n6.nabble.com/me

[Geoserver-users] Textlabel disappears at 1:25000? in client

Hi, I have a textsymbolizer on a pointlayer which disappears at 1:25000 - but only in my openlayers client! It re-appears at scale 1:10 000 again!?! I thought this was maybe a sld problem so I have tried out all of the vendor options, but nothing is working. When visualising through geoservers "

Yes, GeoServer only takes into account the area being rendered when determining label positions, so this sort of thing is expected. You can mitigate it by using a caching server to render large areas and then use simple image cropping to generate the small tiles - we call that technique "metatilin

[Geoserver-users] shp on a POST

2012-07-16 Thread Agustí Escobar
Hello, I have a map on the Geoserver, and I would like to export a Shapefile. Normally I use a GET query to get the shp, but in this case my parameters build a URL which is too large for a GET query. Hence, I would like to query geoserver using POST. Is it possible? Thank you, -

Hi all, I'm trying to set labels for my layers. I have point layer with about 3000 points and this layer is only for showing labels. In SLD I set AnchorPointX and Y to 0.5 and 0.5 so center of label should be exactly above the point. And this work if I serve this labels as single tile. But from som

Hi List, is it possible to use a gradient fill for polygons in geoserver. I saw a response by Andrea to a question by dave.potts requesting gradients on lines, saying this is not yet possible and not even in the SLD specs. Things like gradient fills (and outer-inner glows) are however more and
