I have a GS instance with ~30,000 raster layers. I want to remove about
5,000 layers. I also would like to remove the tile cache for most of
the layers and just let these tiles re-seed on on as-needed basis. Do I
need to do this with REST, or can I just delete a bunch of directories

I downloaded geoserver-2.10.1 and installed it first and it did not work. I was
thinking maybe the version is a little bit out of date, so I download
geoserver-2.8.5 and install it again without uninstalling the 2.10.1 version.
But in the [program files (x86)] folder, I only see

After a while that I'm using Geoserver, I think that it lacks a basic
feature in the Layer Settings page. In the Data tab, while it's possible
to see the column of the table that the layer refers to, it's not
possible to view the database table name used as source for the layer
itself.
