Hi Steve, thank you for your suggestion. Yes, I'm using the GeoFence plugin and after deleting the xercesImpl-2.12.2.jar file in the lib folder of GeoServer, the errors are gone. As far as I could see GeoFence is working normally without this JAR file. But how would I find out if it is save to remove it permanantly?
