shares the same role service. So the admin user was still in tact, but the
admin role was removed.
During some more testing, I was noticing that in both files, the roles.xml
and users.xml, users were getting users removed.

However, just don't know what is causing it to get corrupted. The users are

Hey Darell,
I'm not a expert on Geoserver. However, funny story is that I ran into this
same issue last Friday as we were pushing our changes to our production.
We are using Geoserver 2.9.1 for our product. I don't remember the tomcat
version.
If it wasn't for your email, we would have been still
there any guidance for having a custom extended REST API?

I've been attempting to install GeoFence embedded plugin to Geoserver and
upon start up I receive some exceptions. I'm hoping someone might be able
to help. ;)
I am using:
Tomcat Version 7.0.78
Geoserver Version 2.9.1
The following are my steps that I took to install:
1. I downloaded Geo
