Hi all,
I'm new to GeoServer and to this list. I've read the GeoServer documentation
and some of the OGC specs which are all very informative and helpful. However I
have not found any documentation that addresses design/architecture
considerations, trade-offs, examples, etc. that would be helpful when one is
integrating GeoServer into a production system. Can someone point me to some
good design/architecture documentation and/or tutorials? I'm integrating
GeoServer into an existing production system (JEE and Oracle RDBMS based). The
first order of business will be to develop a portlet to provide a web based map
to display a map that is currently displayed and manipulated by an existing
thick client application and defined by shapefiles.
