Yes, you are correct I'm also doing the same.
But let me try to explain again, suppose I'm working on a
platform-independent binary (extracted .zip file as u said) of 2.14.4
version and we have a lot of published layers or services and different
types of settings in GeoSer
I am also confused as I do not know what platform independent binary" you
are looking for?
We offer a "zip" download which includes "start.bat" and "start.sh" scripts
to run java, this is the platform independent binary link on the release
page:
