Daniele - Thank you for your quick response. Weirdly enough, it turned out that I had the imageio-ext jars in Geoserver's lib directory and tomcat's lib directory. I just deleted the older versions (from tomcat/lib) and everything worked. The only thing that I can think is that somehow I had copie
