I took the liberty of updating the version numbers while setting up the
hudson jobs. Just going to run it through the build server now.

I managed to dig the original issue for the test:

The original behaviour was to swallow the exception and quietly display an
empty result.
This is not an acceptable behaviour as it would be frustrating for the users to
find the configuration fault
