Hi Ben: I did not have any great response to your email earlier in the week; for me the changes would come down to making sure test cases pass - and many of the GML encoding/parsing code is tested by ensuring a round trip is possible.
So if you update the encoder and the parser at the same time I think I am fine? There is one other gotcha which you noticed last year - and we wrote up in proposal form: - http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/FeatureCollection+Descriptor+for+FeatureMembers Basically we need to change our feature collection interface to allow access to the feature member descriptor - so we don't get confused between the name of the feature member and the type of the feature member. (I have renamed the proposal to reflect what it is about - before it was called "Descriptor" or something) I want to start drawing 2.7.x to a close over the next couple of months; so now would be a great time to get an API change like this through.
