 Java 9 Update

Nicolai - thanks for joining.

CLA:

 *

Nicolai will notify geotools-devel when CLA is signed

Proposal:

 *

We will need to do a proposal
   http://docs.geotools.org/latest/developer/procedures/proposal.html

     o

Make a new wiki page for the proposal list
       https://github.com/geotools/geotools/wiki/Proposals(wiki page)

     o

Similar example of a breaking API change
       https://github.com/geotools/geotools/wiki/Change-from-vecmath-to-EJML

 *

   ServiceRegistry → FactoryRegistry

 *

   Filter → Predicate

 *

Breaking change! Perfect time for after the code freeze :)

PR - https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/1670

 Beta Release and code freeze

Progress from David Vick

 *

   GeoWebCache work is done

 *

Security integration with GeoServer is failing tests

 *

   Some leads with CachedDispatcher

Is there anything we can do to help?

 *

Any volunteers with GeoServer codebase please help:

     o

       ambiguous remapping etc..

 *

Note: Torben and Kevin are on holiday, Devon is back and helping out

     o

Kevin is available to make GWC release when it is ready

PRs:

 *

   Mostly merged (thanks torben)

 *

   Niels asks about https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/pull/2439,
fine to merge if swagger docs done prior to release

 osgeo charter member nominations

OSGeo nominations are open until September 7th, review list of charter members here: http://www.osgeo.org/charter_members

Goal is to provide a balanced membership, see:

 *

   http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Election_2017

 *

   https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Membership_Process

What is the responsibility - charter members vote for a board members and charter members.

GeoTools leadership we could consider nominating:

 *

   Ben, Christian

GeoServer leadership we could consider nominating:

 *

   Brad Hards, Alessio Fabiani

 CITE Tests Update/Planning

To discuss next meeting.

 Build server status

Any follow up on “worst code sprint ever”.

Travis is working reliable now.

We have two:

 *

   build.geoserver.org

     o

       faster, less builds

     o

cite tests are not going yet

 *

   Ares

     o

Only being used for CITE tests

Actions:

 *

Consider turning off duplicated builds on ares?

 *

need the nightly builds + cite

 FOSS4G blog post

Still pending release:

 *

   Slides up

 *

   Photos are being uploaded
