I've updated the Spearfish demo to work with the GeoTools 2.2 and 2.3 MapPane.
It supports both the DB2 data store and the Shapefile data store by changing a parameter. The shapefile data including .prj and .sld files is in a subdirectory in the zip file at http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOTOOLS/DB2DataStore It should work "out of the box" on Windows with only modification for the location of the GeoTools binaries. There are a bunch of pages on the GeoTools site referring to the Spearfish demo which I think are applicable to GT 2.1 only. I may try to go through and update them as appropriate.
