Matthias do you want to volunteer to help out on the wps module? It is
currently in unsupported mode; so the procedure is light (ie submit email and
ask; followed by checking your code contribution paperwork is in order).

there are patches waiting to be applied :-) I know that the wps plugin
is unmaintained but maybe someone who is able to commit could just take
the patches and bring them on trunk.
For GEOT-2978 it's just a simple null-check and for GEOT-2717 two
patches are waiting based on former ones
