As a newbie I am struggling hard to get proper data. I need world
topographical map, preferrably with roads on it. Something on the lines
of www.fallingrain.com. Is there some standard dataset for this ?

I am trying to run the demo from source. I have all the jars
that come with the geotools-2.1.0.bin on my classpath. I commented out
the lines specified in the tutorial, the ones referencing classes in
ArcGrid package. I get the following error. Can someone help.
