The position is funded by the EU FP-7 project GLOBIS (Globalisation Informed by Sustainable Development) which is a collaborative project between Lund University (Department of Political Science and LUCSUS), Centre International de Recherche en Environnement et Développement (CIRED) in Paris, and Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research, in Karlsruhe, Germany. Please consult the project homepage for information about the project: www.lucsus.lu.se/globis

The tasks associated with this position are primarily research activities that aim to better integrate and synthesize knowledge from the social sciences with findings from the natural sciences. Developing a conceptual framework that would permit a more systematic analysis of the impact of various aspects of globalization – economic, social, cultural, and political – on the environment will be a prioritized task. Critically evaluating existing scholarship in this area will be important, and adapting findings within the natural sciences in order to better accommodate globalization theory will also be instrumental. Eligibility for employment as a postdoctoral researcher is restricted to applicants with a PhD degree in a relevant subject. Priority is given to applicants who have completed their PhD less than five years prior to the deadline for applying to the post, however applicants who have completed their degrees earlier are also welcome to apply.
