I've just uninstalled get_iplayer and all components completely from my
system (after backing up my PVR settings & download history etc.). After
that, I restarted the PC and then reinstalled everything from the latest
install file that I've just downloaded (6.44MB in size - no version

I've made the swfVfy changes as suggested earlier and now I can download
again although it seems to take several attempts at times. I tested

Thanks to DP for making a quick patch to GIP and providing some notes for
downloading that from GitHub. If, like me, you use Windows then those notes may
not be fully understood. I have worked out a simple process to get the latest
version of the get_iplayer.pl code and save it so it can be used

I'm just looking through the -helplong text for GiP 3.01 and the -force
option says that it "forces a script update if used with -u". I can't
see any other reference to a -u option though and specifying it just
seems to cause GiP to display some basic help information as though it's
an unrecognis

That's because episodes 2 & 3 have not been broadcast on TV yet. The next
episodes are scheduled to be broadcast on 11-Sep and 18-Sep.
You can get them in advance by using the series pid
