Thanks for that, now set. Not an option I've seen before but then I'm not in
the habit of exploring mailman op
And when I Reply to All my own posting, it does go To: the list. So this is
partly down to how other people are sending to the list. I suspect if they CC'd
the list, then Reply to All also CC's the list, which is correct behaviour. So
why are people CCing a mailing list in the first place?

I can't remember the last time I wanted to send a private reply to someone on a
mailing list, it isn't something I do.
And really, is it any less likely? If you're used to mailing lists that work
this way, you press Reply to All automatically and suddenly the personal reply
has gone to everyone
