It doesn't make sense to have such log windows as a part of GLIB.
Sounds like this sort of log window could really come in handy as part
of GTK perhaps?
I think somehow the console window can be made closeable but when
closed, doesn't shut down the whole app, then that would be ideal

are located in gimppreviewarea this way the preview area is not a basic replacement

Well applying a plugin on a 3000*2000 pixel image could take a lot of time.
Making the preview scrollable and applying the effect on the viewable
part solves most of the time
