I recompiled just now gtk+ with the patch in gtkitemfactory.c suggested by Tor
Lillqvist in the message #9933 on gimp-developer.
Both italian and deutsch locales run perfectly now ;)
It really seems the problem was due to some fuzzy (?) translations...
