pixlr. It's a web app, not a standalone app. But it's pretty awesome.
It may not have ALL the features Gimp has, but it also has some it doesn't,
such as layer styles or some basic shape drawing options.

Hi
First of all it is a great tool! And I love it. but I found some strange
behaviour, so before I start a new bugreport, I wanted to ask you, if
this is a bug or just something that's got to do with my system (Linux
Xubuntu)

One thing that can be useful for who does not read release notes is a tip
that appear when an image opened from a format different by xfc is saved.
The tip can be: "Gimp now save images as xfc internal format. If you want

Bump.
I'd love to know the answer to this too...
And maybe an experienced developer could write an article about
their inference of the product vision,
which would prove to be helpful for new developers.
Somehow those 6 lines seem too abstract to me.

The reason is that
1. Open file
2. Make changes
3. Save and close file
4. Open the saved file again
should be a non-destructive operation. In GIMP 2.6, this was not the
case, so we ha

the last thread reminded me of a question, which I had for some longer

Who is the targeted audience of GIMP?
Reading the product vision and the document 'GIMP 2.8 understanding UI
changes' I don't see a clear definition of that, but only two group

Well, calling it a club would certainly give people the wrong idea.

I agree that Import/Save/Export is likely to make complete sense to
the target user of GIMP 2.10.
I also have the impression that it may be quite effective at informing
soon-to-be-former-users that they are not members of the target club.

It's completely contrived, to work around the technical limitation that Gimp

A long time ago, I suggested "save workspace" (to XCF) VS "save image"
(into a "standard" image format, like png, ideally chosen with some
awareness of past actions or the format of the main ingredients of the
current image).

Hello,
is there a way to setup the height of the GTK-slider-widget (like for
opacity of a layer) in GIMP via a .rc file?
I didn't use a tablet and the new sliders consume a lot of space.
Thanks.

Hi Peter,
my opinion is 'the clearer the better'.
Such a list could IMHO improve GIMPs product quality.
Even if it will be a long list (and it will be growing, as user
requirements and wishes always become more) this will show the necessity
to priorize.
I'm not (or not yet) a GIMP developer, bu

Hi,
I read the news about Liquid rescale's UI redesign at GIMP's main site
and Peter's blog. It looks very promising. Especially I like team's no.
3 results.
Are there plans to take these changes over to the current plugin and/or
make Liquid rescale an official tool/plugin of GIMP?
