Thank you all. Btw I loved the Iwarp distort thing. Also Transform -> Perspective is
indeed very similar to the Free Transform Photoshop tool.

Hi GIMPers,
there's a new development snapshot of The GIMP for you to play
with. Grab a copy from
ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v1.3/v1.3.15/
or from one of the mirrors listed at http://gimp.org/download.html.
I suggest you also upgrade to Pango 1.2.3 and GTK+ 2.2.2 which have
just been released

The interface is not what you are used to but you'll find it quite capable

If you want contests, maybe it's a nice idea to join some of the many
contest sites that are not GIMP specific and state at your submis

Mnemonics is how GTK+ calls keyboard accelerators for widgets which
are indicated by an underlined character. We are

I did a quick browse of the Photoshop7tryout and didn't find any distort
tool. If you're refering to the free transform functionality it's a
perspective tool in Gimp. In 1.2 it's a

into the image. You will get a dialog where you can enter

Use the transform tool and set its options to rotation, traditional.
Click on the image to initiate a transfrom then type -2.5 into the Angle
field of the Rotation In
Gimp is a nice toy to play with. As a former Photoshop user, I still have 3 questions
bugging me:
1. Let's say I have this image I need to rotate precisely by 2.5 degrees CCW. How I
am supposed to do this simple task in Gimp?
2. I still didn't figure out how to quickly create my own patterns

You are not yet finished preparing the mask. Parts of the white
background of the neo layer are not being masked out properly. Did you
