[Gimp-user] A new layer enforced for each text object?

Hi all, I read something in the documentation that says that each text (box?) is automatically placed in a new layer. And that's also what seems to happen in practice. Doesn't sound so great to me. I like being able to have multiple objects in a single layer. So I can show/hide a whole lot of thin

Hi all, Once I have finished defining my new gradient how do I apply the gradient to the canvas/area? What do I have to do with the gradient window, if anything? How do I actually apply the new gradient. I have tried using the Fill tool, and that just fills the area with the Foreground color, and
