Can anyone help with compiling 1.1.25?

I have been trying to compile GIMP 1.1.25 to replace version 1.0.4 that came with my Linux distro.  When I run make, it comes up with an error in the po directory.  This is the make output ->   make  all-recursivemake[1]: Entering directory `/mnt/edrive/gimptemp/gimp-1.1.25'Making all in tool
