I've attached a small image, with two dots on it. Does anyone know how I'd be
able to show one dot curving in, and one curving out? Can I also add a bevel
effect around the dots somehow?

I'm trying to compile the latest gimp source code with Mandrake 7.1, but
when running make, I get the error messages shown below.
I've got gettext-0.10.35 installed, along with the development package.
Other software:
gtk+/glib 1.2.8
glibc-2.1.3
Any ideas on getting it to compile?

I just get "Open Failed: filename.xpm". I installed everything from the
package (no --disable flags),

Trying to make GIMP 1.1.20 earlier, it stops because I don't have perl PDL
installed.
So, I did perl -MCPAN -e shell, then went through the configuration. But
the 2 ftp's that I chose in the UK, aren't letting me connect. I can't
find the config file, so I can remove it the

graphic and show up when the graphic is placed
on a web page making the graphic look bad. So if I can replace
these pixel's color I can clean up the edges of the graphic.
Any tips on accomplishing any of this would be appreciated.
