I have been using the 2.9 development versions for a while, and they have been
very solid. However, I have a couple of questions. I have my display color
profile in ~/.config/color/icc/devices/display because that's where my
Colormunki profiling software puts them. Gimp will not show any folders

on my openSUSE Tumbleweed, the first instance of gimp after entering
graphical target is < 3 seconds, second and later instances < 2 seconds on

I took the time now and the chance to update our performance related
bugs. There is already a keyword: perf.
The performance related bugs (including the reported behaviour
