Hmm, in GIMP-2.9, in Preferences, under "Dialog Defaults", there is an option to always resize all the layers to the canvas size. Well, that would solve the problem of resizing the layers to fit the canvas, at least if the canvas is larger than and includes all the content of all the layers.

Every now and then I get a burst of mail from this list all at once, some of which can be 3-5 days old. I don't think they are duplicates. Does anyone else have this issue? Trying to work out if it's a problem with the list or my email! I'm not seeing it anywhere else however.
