Dear List,
In prior versions of The GIMP there was a feature I liked using for
creating logos from a varied set of presets. What happened to it? I
cannot find it (or anything similar) in GIMP 2.10.8 (Windows 10 Pro).

I purchased an image from istock, it shows the checker pattern as if
it's a transparent background, however gimp pulls it in as part of the
image (in a single layer). The image gets downloaded as a JPG.
Anyone know how to properly deal with stock images with transparent
backgrounds?
I've recently upraded to Gimp 2.10.14. Now when I try to export files to pdf, it
is not omitting the hidden layers. It will either merge all the layers into one
page or make a separate page for each layer even if the layers are hidden.
(selecting the 'Omit hidden layers and layers with zero
I am very very very new to GIMP so please don't be too harsh.
I was doing some stuff in GIMP searching for a keyboard shortcut and I ended up
hitting some sort of key combination that switched the "eye" icon (for layer
visibility) next to the layers, into a chain icon (for linking). Can anyone
