I wonder if in Italian or French or German etc. languages this word has any
meaning except for the GIMP program.

Check for the thread with subject "Download of Registry" from 06.01.2021.

where to look for a difference when I do something with that button pressed or
released and I am also unable to find a description for its real usage.

now the context for the above, these are just strings from the .po
file, labeled as "context-action".
In some GIMP translations (e.g. French) the color map is sometimes translated
as color palette (e.g. Colormap Menu > Menu de la palette) and that confuses me.

d name, has nothing to do with the actual desktop, it's just
a category for applications without own folder in start menu)
If that fails (if the shortcut really does not exist), maybe typing gimp
while in start screen and/or applications screen should bring GIMP 2 to

ion is to download the package from http://www.partha.com site,
which includes some plugins right from the start. Probably UFraw is
included, which helps you load your Nikon RAW files (this is just a
guess, you should check for yourself).

the lack of an option to getting rid of it) that pops up in obvious
useless situations is the annoying one, *not* the export thing.

For some Linux version it appears there is a solution that brings
