Thanks for the hint...
I expected this to be an "optional dependency" but in ArchLinux the
dependency to "webkitgtk2" isn't listed at all.
Now, after installing "webkitgtk2", I have:
[manuel@manuelspc ~]$ gimp &
[1] 990
[manuel@manuelspc ~]$
[1]+ Segmentation fault (core dumped) gimp

Do you have libwebkitgtk-1.0.so.0.
