Thank you for the elaborated reply elextr Lots of users close their session without closing softwares 1 by 1 and if a software does not ask for saving something, then we can expect it that what was typed in it is saved(initially this thread was not talking about a crash, just a regular session

@b4n Would you know why applying this solution as no effect(setting carret width to 0)? : I go to tools>config files>filestype.common and replaced #~ caret_width=3 by #~ caret_width=0 however it does not have any effect. It looks like other people cannot seem to change the caret color as well
