Eric,
It looks like the user running the web app does not have access to one
of the log
everything is set to git:git from my root directory down to
config/environments.rb
the logs in the folder are also owned by git:git and are all permissions 777
(just to be safe for now)..
i started all the services as root would this be an issue?

Here is the contents of the email, can anyone give me any insight on
how to fix the searches so that they work again, is it a process that
isn't running that should be?
A Ultrasphinx::DaemonError occurred in searches#show:
Connection refused - connect(2)
Ok, it seems that something got corrupt and ultrasphinx was not
running so I have it running and now I get this error everytime I do a
search.
A ZeroDivisionError occurred in searches#show:
divided by 0
[RAILS_ROOT]/vendor/plugins/ultrasphinx/lib/ultrasphinx/search/
internals.rb:233:in `%'
Not sure if this is the culprit but my log
tail /opt/gitorious/gitorious/log/message_processing.log
is producing this error
ActiveMessaging: thread[default]: Exception from connection.receive: can't
convert TypeError into String
Hmmm I did so, but it is taking forever to generate the tarball.
Probably because I'm trying to tar the entire repo that Gitorious
itself is developed in? .) Does the tarball generate each time someone
wants it? Or is my timing just bad and I'm trying to download the
tarball at the same time
and i've got this in my error log for apache
Rails Error: Unable to access log file. Please ensure that
/opt/gitorious/gitorious/log/production.log exists and is chmod 0666. The
log level has been raised to WARN and the output directed to STDERR until
the problem is fixed.
