" Thus changing localhost.local to git.local in my /etc/hosts does the trick for me. 127.0.0.1 git.local 127.0.0.1 localhost # If there is already a localhost pointing to 127.0.0.1 -> I didn't remove it , instead I just added an additional entry to this file.
