Hi All,
I am using 4 server nodes, afr + unify , glusterfs 1.3 .12 . I found that
the content of file are no consistency when I did failover testing. Time
zone of nodes are sync.
My testing as below:
1. Create a file on client side
$echo aa > file
2. Stop server 1
3. edit fi
None of the copies were deleted from the backend (we even did a search
and verify) the strange thing is this doesn't occur on patch-634. We are
also seeing the same thing on a a afr/stripe/unify (so I'm thinking afr
is the culprit). once again with the strip/afr/unify example it's only
some of
Hi,
I'm trying to get gluster mounted very early for use as root fs (chroot
from initrd). But I seem to get the above error in the log, and the FS
doesn't get mounted.
Also tested when booting with init=/bin/bash. The backing store is
there, as is the target directory, but glusterfs just won

Well, that's a bold theoretical statement. Every
virtualization technology has its side effects.
That is why I asked:

Yes, I have many guests running on the same host, with
other volumes mounted from fstab in them, but none that
are glusterfs or fus

I think you're probably already aware of this, and I'm not sure it's
the cause of your problem, but I'd like to chime in and say that
networking between VMs and the host that runs the VM can sometimes be
very tricky in non-obvious ways.

Agreed. I've done some pre
I'd like to second this. I've set up GlusterFS successfully between a VM and
its host in the past. The main issue I had was a clock drift issue seemingly
affecting timely network communication between the two.
I found that setting a comparatively very low timer frequency in the VM (i.e.

Yes, same experience here, VMware is very good about VM->host
networking. I had lots of trouble doing the same thing with Xen,
though I did eventually make it work.
