The initial copy has to happen via gluster as I'm also using

Are the clients and servers all running the same version of
GlusterFS? Can you check by running glusterfs --version on all the
nodes involved?

I serve static content with an Apache server, and store the files in a
storage server, wich is mounted in the webserver via NFS. 95% of the
files that I serve are images, and the format of the file name is
{number}.png.

run xen with out --disable-direct-io and my understanding is that works in
2.1. What kernel is required for that? Does it require the latest fuse in
2.6.31 or can I use it on a Centos 5.2 2.6.18 xen kernel?
