The performance of this is going to be very dependent on the hardware that your
cluster uses.
For example, I have a cluster here of 4 nodes with 4 SSDs each, and a
replication factor set to 2. Bricks are using XFS. Nodes are inter-connected
with 10 GigE networking.

I think it's not clear what problem you're trying to solve... It's
likely that the "data structure" you're using to solve your problem
won't be as efficient as you'd like.
