No - gluster-swift adds the swift API on top of GlusterFS. It doesn't
require Swift itself.
This project is 4 years old now - how do people not know this?

I am getting some unwanted errors when created the distributed volume and
not able to access file from the gluster mount.
Could you please let me know the reason behind these errors.

But keep in mind that minio could be contenerized and use with 1
instance for each use

minio is very simple, risk is far more
