Yes it works if you use fuse mount
No it does not work well if you use:vfs objects = glusterfs
The samba comes directly from CentOS repository.
Gluster comes from SIG 3.10.12
# rpm -qa | grep centos-release-gluster
centos-release-gluster310-1.0-1.el7.centos.noarch

Yes and no what?
That samba comes from the CentOS-Base/updates repo.
If you don't use the Storage SIG you will get glusterfs 3.8.4,
client-side only; also from the CentOS-Base/updates repo.
That samba's rpm (.spec file) says it Req

Have had problems with samba 4.7.x from Centos repos and Gluster
3.10.x when using plugin vfs gluster to access shares so I had to use
fuse mounts and point samba to fuse mounts.
I tried an upgrade to glusterfs 4.1.5 a couple days ago and samba
worked with it but still using fu

GlusterFS — any version — is _not_ in EPEL.
However it is in the CentOS Storage SIG.

hi guys
I presume because 4.1.x has been in EPEL repo it is confirmed and
validated to work 100% with default samba installation.
But, I'd prefer to here you guys say you ACTUALLY have your samba work
100% with 4.1.x. Anybody?
many thanks, L.

hi guys
can we mixed bot versions? My cluster is 3.12.x version but I'd like to
add another peer in 4.1.x version. Will that work?
And if yes would it be a good path to migrate everything to 4.1.x, by
adding/replacing nodes/peers with 4.1.x?
many thanks, L.

Indeed, still 'no'. Gluster depends on support for external attributes
on the bricks. New NFS-serv
xattrs won't work on nfs mount, so answer is still no.

Hi,
Do any glusterfs version support NFS exports as Gluster bricks. I read an
entry at 2005, the answer is no. Is is still no?
Regards.

Hello,
All the servers and client are in version 5.0.
I have just reboot the client and the only message in the glusterd.log file
from primary server, during the boot, are :
[2018-11-09 08:22:55.125849] E [MSGID: 101191]
[event-epoll.c:671:event_dispatch_epoll_worker] 0-epoll: Failed to dispatc
Hi David Spisla,
gluster_shared_storage works just like yet another volume(There are some
special handling related to authentication). So bringing down a glusterd node
shouldn't have lead to unmount of the volume.
Can you please share the mount log, brick logs at time when you stopped
glusterd
Hi Vijay,
The Volume has been created using heketi-cli blockvolume create command.
The block config is the config applied by heketi out of the box and in my
case ended up to be:
- 3 nodes each with 1 brick
- the brick is carved from a VG with a single PV
- the PV consists of a 1.2TB SSD, not parti
