In our company we're using both the official RHGS and CentOS versions on
(official) RHEL8 and 9 systems and both work great.
The way we install anything is via ansible playbooks/roles and for glusterfs we
do the same. Not just creating the cluster and volumes, also some other stuff
like
seem to be able to cope well), thanks for
this suggestion!

Gluster community:
Due to some recent issues with performance from one of our (internal) clients
that uses several GlusterFS setups, this is mainly an open question for generic
possible improvements.

it)

Hi,
I am a bit surprised by this response. Quite recently we created a Redhat
support case about the same issue (brick process crashing when scanned), and
Redhats response was simply that the "solution" was to not scan the bricks and
that this issue will not be resolved (RH support case
Hello,
What do you mean by a gluster 'client server' ?
A node is either a server (running the glusterd and glusterfsd/brick
processes), and you'd need at least 2 (3 is better, and the volume to be set as
a replica-3) or a gluster client (uses the gluster-client to mount a volume

Hi Deepu,
For monitoring the nodes (and most other GlusterFS related stuff like volumes
and bricks) there is Tendrl[1].
Setup is manual (ssh / cli) but parts can be done through Heketi's restAPI if
you provide it with a topology first.

Hi Jiffin ,
Will try that first thing tomorrow!
If that indeed works on the RHGS version a long overdue story on our backlog
solved :)

Hi All,
In a bugzilla ( [ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1546713 |
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1546713 ] ) I was reading it showed
that it should be possible to restrict the NFSv4 usage to only use 4.0 (since
4.1/4.2 is not supported).
To try that, I modified an

Will try to see if we can enable coredumps (none have been created so far).
Thanks already, Nico van Roijen

Hello,
On our dev environment we want to test GeoReplication with GlusterFS 4.1 and
every attempt so far fails.
For now, we don't care (yet) about running it as a non-root user (not using the
mountbroker etc).
Installed packages, both on master and slaves:
