I tried this some months ago and it worked, but performance suffered,
specially with PHP and APC enabled which tried to use shared memory.
I guess since you are not able to fully test, you don't know yet, I would
like to know what is the performance you are experiencing.

I continue to run some tests against glusterfs. I am running openvz
containers where their filesystem is in a glusterfs mount.
For some reason, mysql takes ages to start up, probably up to a minute,
where usualy takes a few seconds. Any idea why this could be? I have not
measured query
