Hi Thorgeir,
Did you try adding an arbiter with SSD brick/bricks ?
SSD/NVMe is the best type of storage for an arbiter - yes , it's more expensive
Hi,
We have an old Gluster cluster setup, running a replica 2 across two
datacenters, and currently on version 4.1.5
I need to add an arbiter to this setup, but I'm concerned about the performance
impact of this on the volumes.
I recently set up a new cluster, for a different purpose, and deci

You mean when converting a replica 2 volume to a replica 3 volume with
arbiter?
No, you don't need to do rebalance.
What you will need to do instead is monitor heal-info output to ensure the
directory tree is sync'd to the arbiter brick.

So the corruption bug is seen iff your vms are online while fix-layout
and/or rebalance is going on.
Does that answer your question?
The same issue has now been root-caused and there will be a fix for it soon

I think it is triggere
As I understand it, only new files will be sharded, but simply renaming or
moving them may be enough in that case.
I'm interested in the arbiter/sharding bug you've mentioned. Could you
provide any more details or a link?

I can't answer all of these, but I think the only way to share existing
files is to create a new volume with sharding enabled and copy the files
over into it.

Hi I need some advice.
I'm currently on 3.8.10 and would like to know the following:
1. If I add an arbiter to an existing volume should I also run a rebalance?
2. If I had sharding enabled would adding the arbiter trigger the
corruption bug?
3. What's the procedure to enable sharding on an exist
